Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Veraflux (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and the Medical & AI Disclaimer, which is incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Veraflux is an AI-powered research tool that retrieves and synthesizes publicly available clinical literature from PubMed (NCBI). The Service generates automated reports for informational and educational purposes only. It is not a medical product, healthcare service, or substitute for professional medical advice.

Reports are generated using a combination of automated PubMed search queries, AI-based study selection, and AI-based narrative synthesis. The same cached report may be served to multiple users who search for the same supplement and parameters.

The Service also reads supplement labels. When you upload a photograph of a Supplement Facts panel, an AI vision model transcribes the ingredients printed on it, including those a proprietary blend lists without doses, and you confirm the resulting list before any report is generated. Transcription is automated and can misread, omit, or add an ingredient, so the confirmation step is yours to check.

Ingredient briefs are a condensed report type covering efficacy evidence only. They contain no safety, dosing, drug interaction, or demographic content, and they are not a substitute for a full report or for professional medical advice.

3. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You may optionally provide your age and sex to enable personalized reports on paid tiers.

4. Subscriptions, Billing & Quotas

The Service offers free and paid subscription tiers, each with monthly report generation quotas as displayed on the Pricing page. Quotas reset on a monthly billing cycle anchored to your account creation date. Unused quota does not carry over between billing periods.

Paid subscriptions are processed through Stripe and are available on monthly or annual billing intervals. You may cancel your subscription at any time via the account management portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you retain access until then.

Founding pricing: if you subscribe while founding pricing is offered, you keep founding pricing for as long as you remain continuously subscribed, including if you switch between the plans offered during the founding period: each of those plans' founding prices applies while the founding lock holds. The lock covers the plans offered during that period; a plan introduced later is priced as offered at that time. Cancellation or lapse of the subscription ends the lock. Standard prices are shown on the Pricing page and apply to new subscriptions after the founding period ends.

Refunds

Monthly subscriptions: non-refundable. Cancel any time and your access continues through the end of the current billing month.

Annual subscriptions: a pro-rated refund is available within 30 days of the first annual payment, calculated as (days remaining ÷ 365) × the annual subscription cost. After 30 days, annual subscriptions are non-refundable but can be canceled to stop renewal at the end of the annual term.

Refund requests should be sent to support@veraflux.org with your account email.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Provide medical advice to others or present reports as professional medical guidance
  • Misrepresent AI-generated content as human-authored or clinician-reviewed
  • Attempt to circumvent usage quotas, rate limits, or access controls
  • Scrape, crawl, or programmatically access the Service without written authorization
  • Redistribute reports commercially or resell access to the Service
  • Upload images you do not have the right to use, or that contain other people, sensitive personal information, or unlawful content
  • Upload images for any purpose other than reading a supplement label
  • Submit images intended to manipulate, probe, or overload the automated label reader
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, its design, and its underlying technology are the property of Veraflux. Reports generated for you are for your personal, non-commercial use. The underlying PubMed abstracts are publicly accessible through NCBI and are subject to NCBI's own terms of use; full-text journal articles may be subject to publisher copyright.

You retain ownership of the images you upload. By uploading one, you grant Veraflux a limited license to transmit and process that image for the sole purpose of reading the label and returning results to you, including transmitting it to the AI provider named in our Privacy Policy. That license ends when processing finishes. Veraflux does not retain your images and does not use them to train models.

7. Service Availability

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without prior notice.

8. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in activity that is harmful to the Service or other users. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Veraflux and its creators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to health decisions made based on report content. See the Medical & AI Disclaimer for additional details.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via the Service or email. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
